Well here is the easiest way to permanently repair this common problem in an early ( 83.5 to 85 ) Vanagon A 1.25" stainless steel 065 tubing that direct fits in the stock location, from the engine radiator hoses to just in front of the wheel well. The kit consists of two stainless heavy wall tubing ( twice the wall thickness of the stock VW tubing ) two 6" silicone hoses to make the splice, and 4 stainless aircraft screw type clamps.
